Be Strong In The Lord
As Christians , we’ve got to have the strength of character and a strong constitution about ourselves in these end times. We must be strong in faith, rooted and grounded in the things of God especially when the Word of God reveals a great falling away in these last days. Many Christians are being careless spiritually, allowing themselves to participate in behavior unbecoming unto salvation. Don’t get caught up in the status-quo trap, or the group mentality whereas because of what the majority thinks, whether right or wrong, we follow the opinion of the status quo . The Bible addresses this mindset. “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it,” Matt. 7:13, 14 (KJV). Just because everybody is doing it doesn’t mean it’s right. But the influence of the status quo is powerful and real. That’s why many Christians struggle today because they’re concerned about what others think about them even in the face of knowing that the status quo is wrong. Christians are fearful of offending others, of being persecuted, harassed, and being seen as different or out of touch. It comes with being a Christian. “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution,” 2 Tim. 3:12 (KJV). These scriptures are indicative of a difference between the wide gate and the straight gate. You can’t be weak and be a Christian. You’ve got to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. And no wonder. This should not be a surprise to the Bible studying Christian who is studying to show themselves approved unto God being a workman not ashamed but rightly dividing the Word of Truth. “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty,” 2 Cor. 6:14-18 (KJV).
