Pastor’s Pen for Sunday, 10-11-26
In our series in the Sunday worship service titled, “I’m in the Fight of my Life,” and in our series in the Bible study titled, “In the Spirit of your Mind,” the conclusion of the whole matter is that it’s our faith in God’s Word that transforms us into the image of His Son, our Lord & Savior Jesus, Romans 8:29 (KJV): 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. In the image and the likeness of God is the born again, re-created spirit, the new creature, the new man, the candle of the Lord, the inner man who has accepted the conditions of God in Romans 10:9–10 (KJV): 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. The divine nature in us in the person of the Holy Spirit produces the fruit of love, Galatians 5:22–23 (KJV): 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. That’s what the Holy Spirit’s indwelling presence in the inner man manifests, love. Romans 5:5 (KJV): 5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. The most powerful principle on this earth is the love of God. Everything that God the Father does is out of a motivation of love. His love towards men moved Him to give His only begotten Son to suffer under Pontius Pilate and give His life a ransom that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. A love that is translated into the inner man of them that believe, that we too should horizontally transfer that love to all people, but especially to those of the household of faith, Galatians 6:10 (KJV): 10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
