Jesus Preached The Kingdom
The kingdom, the kingdom, the kingdom, Jesus preached the kingdom. “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you,” Matt. 6:33 (KJV). Many of the kingdom of heaven parables start out with “The kingdom of heaven is likened unto,” and the Lord would proceed with using a natural story to convey spiritual truth concerning the kingdom. Our understanding of the kingdom is essential to our ability to be effective in the kingdom. One important revelation to consider is that the kingdom is twofold, and that is there’s a spiritual and natural element to it. This is true of the entire Bible where you are constantly maneuvering between the spiritual realm and the natural realm. A great example of this is found in Rev. 12:1-4 (KJV): “And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.” The woman in these verses is none other than Israel as the language of a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars is the same language used of Israel in the dream of Joseph in Gen. 37:9. The child is believed to represent Christ with the great red dragon being Satan as revealed in v. 9, ready to destroy Christ at birth. The third part of the stars of heaven that was cast down to earth is none other than the 1/3 part of angels deceived by Satan to rebel against God and were thrown out of heaven. The spiritual and the natural elements in these verses must be discerned to understand the truth conveyed.
