Pastor’s Pen for Sunday, 6-11-23
How much time do we spend with God in the course of a day? How much of our attention is occupied in His Presence each day? I’m not talking about necessarily closing our eyes, kneeling and praying, but time meditating on His Word, quietly conversing with Him whenever an opportunity presents itself, and thinking on the things of God. What priority do we place on our relationship with our Redeemer, our Lord & Savior? Do we pray without ceasing realizing that the fervent effectual prayer of a righteous man avails much, or do we pray at all? Do we practice the Presence of God in our lives, or do we think about Him every once and a while? This generation is ripe for revival and is the most opportune time for the Church of Jesus Christ to let its light shine that men may see our good works and glorify our Father which is in Heaven. It's our time, the age of the Church. Acts 2:14-18 (KJV): 14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: 15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. 16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; 17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: 18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy. Priority is the things of God in our lives and the plans and purposes of God for our lives which include going into all the world and preaching the gospel. I do believe that though the last days are times of rebellion against God there will be an end time revival where God will have His remnant reserved unto His glory. Hallelujah!
