Strong Faith
“As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations, before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded, that what he had promised, he was able also to perform,” Rom. 4:17-21 (KJV). The Lord recognized and wanted His people to see the faith of Abraham that we would be built up in our personal faith. If we believe or have faith like the faith of Abraham, strong in faith, being fully persuaded, staggering not at the promises of God, considering not the things that causes doubt, we too will receive whatever God says we may receive. This is the sign of strong faith and not weak faith. Strong faith considers the Word of God and not the circumstances. Abraham was a man just like we are yet he’s called the father of faith. If God done it for Abraham He’ll do it for His people today. Abraham and Sarah were beyond their years for having children but what is impossible with man is possible with God for with God all things are possible to them that believe. The scripture reads that Abraham who against hope believed in hope. In other words Abraham believed against that which was normal, the usual, or what would normally be expected. But faith calls those things that be not as though they were. He was fully persuaded that God would do what He had promised. God revealed to Abraham that His seed would be as the stars of Heaven and Abraham believed God and the Bible says that it was counted unto him for righteousness. Abraham was not weak in faith. “Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the seashore innumerable,” Heb. 11:12 (KJV). We walk by faith and not by sight!
