Put It In The Master’s Hands
Is it just me or does it seem like the world is getting meaner? Whatever the answer is to that question it sure seems to me that people at the drive-thru restaurants, the neighborhood grocery, the auto repair shop, etc., are edgier. For me, in general, it just seems like people are less patient, quicker to get upset and stay upset, snappy, rude, and for the most part, just outright hateful. It’s like in every meeting there will be someone that just wants to turn the meeting into an “us against them” situation. There’s always that one on the job that will not be a team player but when they want help from their co-workers they expect it like right now! There’s a coldness, not temperature cold, but attitude cold, more so in the air, and again this just may be my own personal experience, but even among the faithful, those who I once worshipped with, Churched with together, worked in the house of God together at one time, now you’d think that we never knew each other. It’s amazing how we can change after facing some real-life challenges that strain our relationship with God and others. These contentions can be found in the Bible, Acts 15:36-40: 36 And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do. 37 And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark. 38 But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work. 39 And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus; 40 And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God. These types of contentions should be avoided as much as possible, but they do happen and as Paul and Silas did, sometimes you just have to agree to disagree and move on. Don’t allow what someone said to you or done to you to derail your faith because none of us would be effective if we did. There are some things that we just have to put in the Master’s hand and as the old folks use to say, “Leave it alone.”
