The Church is tasked with the mission of representing Heaven in the earth. We are Heaven’s ambassadors, 2 Corinthians 5:20 (KJV): 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. The Church is called the light of the world as is Christ, the Father, and the Word. Light means to illuminate, to shine, and in the Word of God light also is indicative of the kingdom of Heaven and the revelation of God in the earth. We are all of the light that many who we work with on our jobs will see, or who we work alongside in our businesses, our communities, schools, etc. In Jesus’ sermon on the mount, He reveals that our light is our good works , Matthew 5:16 (KJV): 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. What we do reveals whether we’re walking in light or darkness according to the words of Christ in John 3:19–21 (KJV ): 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. Rom. 14 is an awesome chapter that encourages Believers to be mindful of how we influence our brothers and sisters, and to take it a step further, how we may influence all whom we may come in contact with. In other words, we are to be mindful of our actions and how we are encouraging or discouraging others as it relates to the things of God, Romans 14:21 (KJV): 21 It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak. War is going on in the earth. This war is an invisible war to the natural eye but to them that believe it’s a war none-the-less. The consolation to the Church though, is that we, the Church, have power from on high. God have given us authority over the ability of the devil and his kingdom. Jesus said, “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to them that believeth,” Mk. 9:23 (KJV). The Church in Acts was full of faith and power demonstrated by the signs and wonders manifested in their day. Acts 5:14–16 (KJV): 14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women. 15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. 16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one. John 15:11 (KJV): 11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. “Joy” here in Jn. 15:11 is from the Greek word chara, pronounced khar-ah, from Strong’s G5463 and it means cheerfulness, that is calm, delight:- gladness, exceeding greatly, joy (-ful, -fully, -fulness, -ous). This joy is not a joy from having stuff, fame, riches, notoriety, popularity, or any of those things that satisfies our flesh. This joy does not come from anything in this world, but is birth out of our relationship with the God of our salvation. That means that the world didn’t give us this joy and the world can’t take away. When anything else is the source of our “joy,” then when that thing is taken away, or walks out of our lives our joy walks out with it, but when your joy hinges on nothing else such as how high I climb the economic ladder, or how many followers I have on social media, or how many people are under my leadership, but only on my relationship with my God then my joy is full. Now just to make sure that I’m not misunderstood, I’m not saying that there’s anything wrong in itself with being blessed with possessions, riches, fame, or whatever else in this life we may receive, but if these things become priority over our relationship with our Creator then we have a spiritual situation whereas God now has been relegated to an inferior place in our lives. The Word says that we should have no other “gods” before Him. Now I know that sounds like strong language, and it is, but what the scripture reveals is that we must get our priorities right in this life. If we really want to have full joy in this world it will be through a personal relationship with our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. This is the original plan of God and will have it’s fulfillment in the restoration of all things as revealed in Revelation 21:4 (KJV): 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Living right in a wrong world is the plight of the Christian . John 17:14–16 (KJV): 14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. One of the most powerful warnings in God’s Word revealing the Father’s attitude as it relates to Christians and their association with the world is found in 1 John 2:15–17 (KJV): 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. In another scripture as Jesus was praying to the Father He revealed why His followers would be hated in this life. John 15:17–19 (KJV): 17 These things I command you, that ye love one another. 18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. 19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. The word “world” in all of these passages is from the Greek word “kosmos,” Strongs 2889, and is defined as follows: Orderly arrangement, that is decoration; by implication the world (in a wide or narrow sense including its inhabitants literally or figuratively [morally]):-adorning, world. To get entangled in the spirit of this age with no control, boundaries, limitations, or temperament on our desires is opposite of being mature spiritually. The Holy Spirit is there with us in time of need. He’s not only there in the time of need, but just look at how the Holy Spirit ministers to the Christian. John 14:16 (KJV): 16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever. He’s our Comforter. John 14:17 (KJV): 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. He lives in the Believer and He’s the Spirit of truth. John 14:26 (KJV): 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. The Holy Spirit is our Teacher and He brings things to our remembrance. John 15:26 (KJV): 26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me. The Holy Spirit testifies of Christ. John 16:7–8 (KJV): 7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. 8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. The Holy Spirit convicts of sin, of our need for the righteousness of God, and of the judgment of God especially of Satan and all evil. In the time of trouble and disappointment we’ve got to remember that we have God’s Spirit in us and the Holy Spirit will help us in the time of trouble. He’s a very present help in the time of need. Let the Spirit of God minister unto you during these times. Personally, I have to make time, set aside space, for the distinct purpose of listening to God. He never fails me. Whenever I call on Him, He’s there. I’ve never been disappointed or concerned that when I need my God, He’s not available. His presence is tangible, and His love is unconditional and everlasting. I can lean and depend on Him. I talk to the Holy Spirit and He talks back to me. I’m always aware of His presence. I reverence Him and respect Him and He always represents the Father and the Son. He’s God, the Holy Spirit, the third person of the trinity. The Word of God reveals to us His ministry in the earth. He leads us, guides us, is our Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Helper, Counselor, and Standby. The Holy Spirit is essential to our salvation, Titus 3:4–7 (KJV): 4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, 5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. He’s my prayer partner, my friend, in whom I have fellowship, communion with, and relationship with, that is my desire to have with Him every second of the day, 24-7’s, 365 days a year. He’s my life, my joy, peace, and the lifter of my head. He reminds me of who I am in Christ, brings things back to my remembrance, and helps me to discern spiritual things. I trust in Him. Focus we must be in this generation of deception, lies, and conspiracy theories. We’re children of the kingdom and serving in God’s kingdom is the highest honor. Our allegiance is to the most high God Jehovah, Yahweh, Yeshua. The quagmire that the Church will find itself in today, if we’re not spiritually minded, is identifying with a political party and that being priority over our identification with Christ which, in my humble opinion, will lead to some strange and awkward companionships forced upon the parties involved. For instance, if I’m a born again Christian and I’m asked to go along with some rule that’s clearly against the Word of God then we’ve got a problem, or should have a problem, which is my point. Too many Christians compromise their faith to fit into a political party and what a person does is between them and the good master, but here’s the problem with that position. Once you cross that line your credibility as a representative, ambassador, and a citizen of the kingdom of God is all but non-existent. When we can’t call right right and wrong wrong then who is going to listen to us when we say we’re speaking for God? When Christians go along with evil because it’s their team but are quick to condemn others for the same thing, it’s hypocrisy. The word hypocrisy in the Bible means stage actor. What we have in this age are stage actors who are professional liars and will rob, cheat, and steal in order to have their political way. Truth is thrown out the window. The war cry is by any means necessary regardless of who it may hurt or destroy. This, while Christians stand idly by and are silent. Dr. Fredrick K. C. 1 Corinthians 12:28 (KJV): 28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. The ministry of helps is a supernatural ministry listed among things such as miracles and healings. It is a “gift” from God set in the Church like a concrete pillar to hold things up. Eph. 4:11, 12 (KJV): 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, h prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. Christians who are maturing and growing in the Lord will exhibit three qualities of assistance. They will build up and add to the welfare of God’s family, the Church. They will learn to minister, to help or serve, others. Then finally, they will help the Pastor and not hinder him. The ministry of helps is a supernatural ministry set in the Church by God to help bring to pass the vision or goal God gave the Pastor. The simple definition of helps is “one who gives assistance to the weak and needy.” God never intended for any Believer to be a pew warmer week after week. He put you in your Church to help. Where people do not help, the body of Christ is weak. The Church is made stronger when you are strong in the ministry of helps toward others. The Church is weak when everyone looks at a problem and says, “I wish someone would do something about that.” 1 Corinthians 12:18, 26, 27 (KJV): 18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. 26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. 27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. Joshua 1:9 (KJV): 9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Moses, the great deliverer of the Jews, had died and the Lord would now raise up another to lead His people on into the promise land, a land flowing with milk & honey. Milk & honey symbolizes a place of prosperity and plenty. Joshua was a young man who had sat at the feet of Moses and observed how God used him mightily in the deliverance of His people out of Egyptian bondage. Joshua was there to see the miracles that caused Pharaoh to let God’s people go, Ex. 4:1-9. When God delivered Israel through the Red Sea, Ex. 14. When He led them in a cloud by day and a fire by night, Ex. 13:21, 22. On Mt. Sinai when God gave Moses the ten commandments, Ex. 20:1-17. Joshua witnessed God be with Moses during the rebellions in the wilderness, Ex. 32; Num. 13:17-33; 16:31-35. God let Joshua know that He would be with him as He was with Moses. Joshua 1:5 (KJV): 5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. As God was with Moses and Joshua, He is with His people today. In these contemporary times He’s the same yesterday, today and forever. Numbers 14:8–9 (KJV): 8 If the Lord delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey. 9 Only rebel not ye against the Lord, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the Lord is with us: fear them not.
