Vision is the fire and combustion to those who see what others do not. That inner combustion is fueled by the imagination, pictures, and the dreams of those things desired that we don’t have presently. We’re convinced of the sight that we see with our faith but not yet visible to the natural eyes. We walk by faith and not by sight. How far I see is the potential for how much I will achieve. If I don’t see anything then I’m not going to achieve anything, but whatever I see in my spirit, I have the potential to achieve. What we envision, imagine, picture in our minds is the starting point. It’s the beginning of changing our present state of affairs for the future. It’s our down payment towards a better tomorrow and then we make installment payments toward that vision in order that the vision come to pass. We work the vision, never taking our eyes off of what God have given us, what we have seen, what we have imagined, and what we have pictured in our minds. Then, faith without works is dead. A vision is no greater than the desire and the action to achieve it. Never give up on your dreams. Never give up on your vision. It’s not just for you, but it’s to be a blessing to the multitudes. The vision is to inspire generations. God gave Abraham a vision that would inspire generations. Genesis 22:17-18 (KJV): 17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; 18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. The creation groans for the restoration of all things that have been affected by the sin of the first man and the first woman. Though the earth was not the cause of the fall, it was cursed as well. Because of sin death entered the earth separating men from God’s best for their lives. Poverty, sickness, and lack have never been the plan of God for mankind. Man was created in the image and likeness of God, and should never accept anything less than what God says, and God said in Genesis 1:26-27 (KJV): 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Notice that God gave man dominion over fish, fowl, cattle, all the earth, and over creeping things. Nowhere in Gen. 1:26, 27, does it say man shall have dominion over other men. Man was created in the image and likeness of God, and sin keeps us separated from God’s best and I know that, for me, I hunger and thirst after my God and am looking forward to the full restoration and completion of our redemption, and until then I refuse to listen to the enemies of my soul including evil and wickedness in high places such as governments, whether local or nationally. Habakkuk 1:4 (KJV): 4 Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment proceedeth. It will fail. Righteousness will win over darkness. As we celebrate this blessed Mother’s Day there are so many precious memories of moms taking care of us growing up and even after becoming adults, we dare not forget the upbringing we all received at the loving care of our mothers. Mothers have shaped the world because they shaped the lives of those who rule it. More than anything though is that in our mothers we see the love of God through them. After all, even the Lord draws an analogy between natural parents and their relationship with their children, and our heavenly Father and His relationship with the children of God. Matthew 7:7-11 (KJV): 7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? A mother’s love is priceless, unconditional, and unmatched by any. I was in my yard cleaning up one evening and suddenly a bird flew quite close to me and done it several times and I was like, “What in the world?” Then as I investigated further, I noticed that what was obviously the mother bird, flew back into the hedges where she had a nest with a little one in it. She was protecting her young. I thought to myself, “Wow! That mother bird is willing to fight with a human being 50 times her size to protect her young than to sit idly by while something happens to them.” Awesome. In a hostile generation it is needful that every Christian know who they are in God, or many will fall prey to the lies of the devil. Truth is the weapon of choice against lies and deception. God’s Word is truth, and it is life. No wonder that iniquity abounds in a world that will accept a lie before truth can get its boots strapped on. Amazing how that is, that people will accept a lie without checking it out, making sure of its validity, or even checking out reputable resources for a second opinion. Listening to voices who do not have your best interest at heart is like trusting a toddler to do brain surgery on your brain. The Bible is the source of all truth and everything else should be compared to what God’s Word reveals and if it does not align with the Word of God then it is rejected as truth. God reveals in Gen. 1:26, 27 that He created man in His image and in His likeness. In Dr. Fredrick K. C. Price’s book titled: “Race, Religion, & Racism, A Bold Encounter With Division in the Church,” volume 1, in chapter 3 titled: “In God’s Image,” Dr. Price says: “In the Hebrew language, in which the Old Testament was originally written, the word for “image” and “likeness” found in Genesis 1:26 is tselem. Tselem comes from a root word meaning “form,” and, in addition to likeness and image, it implies “resemblance,” or a “representative figure.” This tells us that man is a copy or counterpart of God. Since God made man in His image (tselem); if we want to find out about man, we must first find out what God is. Then we will know what we are, because we are God’s tselem, copy or counterpart.” That’s all men, not just black men, or white men, or brown men, or yellow men, but all men! Though sin separated man from God in the Garden, Jesus made a way for the restoration of the God-image, Rom. 10:9, 10. Resurrection Sunday is one of the most holy and powerful celebrations for so many reasons. First of all, without the resurrection Christianity would fall apart. Like all other religious founders, if Christ had not risen then He would still be in the grave, or at least His body would still be in the grave. Christianity would be no different than all other religions whose founders you would still find their remains wherever they were laid. The other very powerful consequence from the resurrection, surprisingly, is not taught or preached about with the prominence that it should be and that is, when it comes to the resurrection it is directly part of the restoration of the God-image inside of them that believe as witnessed by the following scriptures: Romans 6:4 (KJV): 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. The “new man” is the resurrected man living the resurrected life in Christ Jesus. We too, as Lazarus was resurrected from natural death back to a natural life, were raised from spiritual death to spiritual life. Today is resurrection Sunday, the event where not only was Jesus raised up from the grave, but so were we, Colossians 2:12 (KJV): 12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. Since we have been raised up with Christ we are raised up to newness of life, Romans 6:4 (KJV): 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. The Christian’s life is hid in Christ, Colossians 3:3 (KJV): 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. That’s how the Father sees us, hid in Christ. He doesn’t see your past mistakes and God’s not condemning you and I because Romans 10:9-10 (KJV) reads: 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. We live resurrected lives unto Christ now. We’re not our own, but we are bought with a price. The resurrected life is a life of faith in Jesus Christ, Galatians 2:20 (KJV): 20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. That resurrected life is the transformed life as revealed in Romans 12:2 (KJV): 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. The word transformed is from the Greek word metamorpho whereas we get our English word metamorphosis which is the change as when a caterpillar is transformed into a butterfly. His inner systems as well as his outer systems are completely changed in the metamorphosis process. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV): 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Being spiritually minded, according to the Word of God, is to be aware of and understanding what the plans and purposes of God are, yielding to those plans and purposes all to His glory. A people humbled in His presence. The only wise and true God be glory and majesty, dominion and power, forever and ever. To know Him is the greatest honor and privilege in this life. We are a blessed people that are called by His name. His ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts. The Bible reveals that there is another realm that is even more real than the one we see in the natural. The reality of the spirit realm is God’s revelation to man and the possibility of the impossible being unlocked to them that believe. That’s what the generals of the faith teach us in Heb. 11. We too, have access into this realm where the impossible becomes possible. I’m convinced that, for the most part, we, the people of God, have not tapped into the authority and power that are the children’s bread, our covenant rights, paid for by the blood of the Lamb, our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. He paid the price so that you and I could know that this awesome God that we love and serve has yours and my best interest at heart. He not only provides our every need, but He is the guarantee of the covenant. Once we tap into this realm by faith, like many that I call generals of the faith, life becomes that rest because we’ve learned to trust in God more than anything else. He gives us a promise, Matthew 11:28-30 (KJV): 28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. As we seek God concerning the spiritual and the natural, we can find in the Word of God powerful examples of what it takes to have a life that walks by faith and not by sight. The Bible reveals a people committed to a life set apart for the glory of God. They were people just like all other people except they had faith in God. Their faith in God set them apart then and our faith in God sets us apart now. What an encouragement to present-day Believers when they see in God’s Word how saints of old coped with their storms and trials of their faith. They weren’t given anything more special to deal with their tests than what we have. They weren’t given anything except what were their covenant rights and what was considered the children’s bread. Honestly, we are the more blessed as it relates to the Old & New Covenants. We have the better covenant with better promises. We have the Holy Spirit dwelling inside of us. The Old Testament saints did not have the blessing of the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit like the New Covenant Church enjoys today. We have more revelation. We’re under grace and not under the law. We are the more blessed because the Old Testament was the New Testament concealed, and the New Testament is the Old Testament revealed. Jesus is our Guarantee of the New Covenant. Ours is the generation with the revelation of the God-man, the Christ, God in the flesh, Immanuel, the second person of the trinity, by whose name is the only name under heaven by which men must be saved. Therefore, in all honesty, we’re in the most blessed time for the Church. We live in the age of the Spirit outpouring and the Lord’s soon return. Amen! In His Service, Pastor Jeffery A. When you and I are faced with impossible odds against us we remain strong realizing that what may be impossible with man is possible with God because all things are possible with the Lord. Faith defies the odds. Matthew 19:26 (KJV): 26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. That’s why for the people of God life is always our choice when facing the odds against us. Faith in the Word is our lifeline, 1 John 5:4-5 (KJV): 4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? Regardless of the pressure to follow our senses the mature Christian knows that the only choice is to stand on the promises of God and sometimes those options can seem very blurry which way to go, but the Holy Spirit will help us make the right decisions. He will guide us and lead us into all truth. Our faith is our victory right now, present tense, and our test will always be, will we follow God, or will we follow our senses? The choice is ours. Deuteronomy 30:19 (KJV): 19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live. To choose life is to choose His Word because His Word is life, John 6:63 (KJV): 63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 10:10 (KJV): 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
