Many Christians do not take what the Bible reveals about Satan as seriously as they ought. Satan was not always a fallen angel. At one time he was known as Lucifer. The name Lucifer means “light bringer,” “shining one.” He was called the anointed cherub. He was considered a good angel until iniquity was found in him. Pride entered in and Lucifer “light bringer,” and “shining one” became Satan, which means “adversary.” He was created and is not omniscient, omnipotent, or omnipresent. He must be resisted though,

Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. Neither are Christians to give place to the devil,
Ephesians 4:26-27 (KJV):

Neither give place to the devil. Some don’t believe he’s real. Others take him lightly. Satan has been around and obviously God takes him very seriously because Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil,

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Satan is a spirit, therefore we will need spiritual weapons to be victorious over him, but be encouraged, Jesus have already destroyed the works of the devil. The Word of God is our hammer. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (KJV):

When you are faced with an enemy who cannot be seen with the natural eye then you had better learn all you can about that enemy from reliable sources, especially if that source created that enemy. 1 Peter 5:8-9 (KJV) 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. Satan is an adversary not to be taken lightly. He tempted our Lord with significant earthly power and possessions that many would not hesitate to accept the devil’s offer and in fact, do. Matthew 4:8-9 (KJV): 8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. It would not be a temptation if Satan could not deliver, and Jesus never said that Satan couldn’t do what he said. The Bible declares that Satan is the god of this world and the prince of the power of the air. 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 (KJV): 3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. The signs of the times are the indicators on the road of prophecy keeping the saints abreast of the nearness of His coming, the second coming of Christ. Wars and rumors of wars are signs that we are in the last days. Earthquakes in divers places, the love of many will wax cold. As it was in the days of Lot and Noah, marrying and giving in marriage, then sudden destruction came upon them. Daniel prophesied that a king of a fierce countenance would rise up out of the old Roman Empire and he will exalt himself even above God. Nation will rise up against nation and 3 froglike spirits persuade them to take part in Megiddo what is called the battle of Armageddon , Revelation 16:13-16 (KJV) 13 And I saw three unclean :spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. 15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. 16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon. Ezekiel 38, & 39; Daniel 2, 7, 8, & 11; Rev. 13 all shed light on the events that are setting the stage for the soon coming King of kings and Lord of lords who will set up an everlasting kingdom on earth, Daniel 2:44 (KJV): 44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. The need for the local Church is more evident today than ever. Congregational worship involves so much more than just the outward expressions of worship such as the lifting of hands, praising God with musical instruments, and the singing of songs. It’s also being there for each other. It means being accountable to one another, Ephesians 5:21 (KJV): 21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. Family is a great support system and so is your Christian family. It is so necessary in these times we live in presently. When government does away with the programs that help the least of these, then the Church must step up to the plate and take up the slack. The Church is the one place where hurting people should find consolation, the hungry should get their needs met, the homeless find shelter, the weak can find strength, and restoration for the downtrodden and the broken hearted. We are God’s hands and feet. We, the Church, the ekklesia, the called out ones, are all of the body of Christ in the earth today. We are the champions for the poor, the voiceless, the abused, and all those whom are oppressed of the devil. Wasn’t that the Lord’s mission in the earth? Acts 10:38 (KJV): 38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. Luke 4:18-19 (KJV): 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. There are so many religions in the world today. At one time I spent a lot of energy studying the different religions, but as I have gotten wiser in the things of God I’ve not spent as much of my energy on other beliefs, though I do see it as wisdom to know what is out there so that we may have an answer for what we believe. Scripture heeds Christians to know and understand His revelation, the Word of God. 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV): 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. That word “study” is from the Greek word spoudazo and it means do diligence, be diligent, endeavor, and to labor. We are to have an understanding of this great salvation that we are so blessed to partake of. I am personally convinced that the greatest blessing is understanding the revelation of God and the eternal benefits of that personal relationship with Him. An eternity, forever and ever, with God in all of His glory is not even to be compared to what all we suffer on this side of glory. These things we have been taught from a child . 2 Timothy 3:15-17 (KJV): 15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. John 14:6 (KJV): 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. What another man believes is between him and the good Master. Praise is a powerful weapon in the kingdom. Jehoshaphat sent praisers into the forefront of the battle and confused the enemy, 2 Chron. 20:21, 22. The Syrophenician woman worshipped the Lord and her daughter who was vexed by demons was healed, Matt. 15:21-28. The Bible declares in Ps. 22:3 that God inhabits the praises of Israel. He inhabits the praise, period! I know in my own personal life the power of praise. In every dark situation as I looked to the Arthur and Finisher of my faith and worshipped, I received strength, peace, and joy. He will never fail you nor me. Praise boosts our faith, Philip. 4:6. Praise honors the Lord in reverential respect. It recalibrates our thinking to His, aligning with His Word and therefore the blessing. If I’m praising God, then I’m not giving place to the enemy of my soul to plant evil thoughts into my mind. Worship does so much to and for the worshipper. It invites God and Heaven into our situation, Ps. 22:3. For petition prayers it keeps us focused in faith for what we’re believing God for. It’s an act of faith in itself. Who worships what they don’t believe in? It’s like prayer. Who prays to someone they don’t believe in? We often say, “Prayer changes things.” Well, praise changes things too. For one thing, instead of using our mouths to speak doubt and unbelief, we’re using our tongue to give praise unto God. Praise also releases our faith into the atmosphere by praising God with the Word of faith. I’m learning more and more the importance of paying attention to details. The Bible says that faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God, Rom. 10:17. In His Service, Pastor Jeffery A. Vision is the fire and combustion to those who see what others do not. That inner combustion is fueled by the imagination, pictures, and the dreams of those things desired that we don’t have presently. We’re convinced of the sight that we see with our faith but not yet visible to the natural eyes. We walk by faith and not by sight. How far I see is the potential for how much I will achieve. If I don’t see anything then I’m not going to achieve anything, but whatever I see in my spirit, I have the potential to achieve. What we envision, imagine, picture in our minds is the starting point. It’s the beginning of changing our present state of affairs for the future. It’s our down payment towards a better tomorrow and then we make installment payments toward that vision in order that the vision come to pass. We work the vision, never taking our eyes off of what God have given us, what we have seen, what we have imagined, and what we have pictured in our minds. Then, faith without works is dead. A vision is no greater than the desire and the action to achieve it. Never give up on your dreams. Never give up on your vision. It’s not just for you, but it’s to be a blessing to the multitudes. The vision is to inspire generations. God gave Abraham a vision that would inspire generations. Genesis 22:17-18 (KJV): 17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; 18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. The creation groans for the restoration of all things that have been affected by the sin of the first man and the first woman. Though the earth was not the cause of the fall, it was cursed as well. Because of sin death entered the earth separating men from God’s best for their lives. Poverty, sickness, and lack have never been the plan of God for mankind. Man was created in the image and likeness of God, and should never accept anything less than what God says, and God said in Genesis 1:26-27 (KJV): 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Notice that God gave man dominion over fish, fowl, cattle, all the earth, and over creeping things. Nowhere in Gen. 1:26, 27, does it say man shall have dominion over other men. Man was created in the image and likeness of God, and sin keeps us separated from God’s best and I know that, for me, I hunger and thirst after my God and am looking forward to the full restoration and completion of our redemption, and until then I refuse to listen to the enemies of my soul including evil and wickedness in high places such as governments, whether local or nationally. Habakkuk 1:4 (KJV): 4 Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment proceedeth. It will fail. Righteousness will win over darkness. The God-image will not let wicked people, wicked rulers, nor wicked governments prevail. 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV): 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. As we celebrate this blessed Mother’s Day there are so many precious memories of moms taking care of us growing up and even after becoming adults, we dare not forget the upbringing we all received at the loving care of our mothers. Mothers have shaped the world because they shaped the lives of those who rule it. More than anything though is that in our mothers we see the love of God through them. After all, even the Lord draws an analogy between natural parents and their relationship with their children, and our heavenly Father and His relationship with the children of God. Matthew 7:7-11 (KJV): 7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? A mother’s love is priceless, unconditional, and unmatched by any. I was in my yard cleaning up one evening and suddenly a bird flew quite close to me and done it several times and I was like, “What in the world?” Then as I investigated further, I noticed that what was obviously the mother bird, flew back into the hedges where she had a nest with a little one in it. She was protecting her young. I thought to myself, “Wow! That mother bird is willing to fight with a human being 50 times her size to protect her young than to sit idly by while something happens to them.” Awesome. In a hostile generation it is needful that every Christian know who they are in God, or many will fall prey to the lies of the devil. Truth is the weapon of choice against lies and deception. God’s Word is truth, and it is life. No wonder that iniquity abounds in a world that will accept a lie before truth can get its boots strapped on. Amazing how that is, that people will accept a lie without checking it out, making sure of its validity, or even checking out reputable resources for a second opinion. Listening to voices who do not have your best interest at heart is like trusting a toddler to do brain surgery on your brain. The Bible is the source of all truth and everything else should be compared to what God’s Word reveals and if it does not align with the Word of God then it is rejected as truth. God reveals in Gen. 1:26, 27 that He created man in His image and in His likeness. In Dr. Fredrick K. C. Price’s book titled: “Race, Religion, & Racism, A Bold Encounter With Division in the Church,” volume 1, in chapter 3 titled: “In God’s Image,” Dr. Price says: “In the Hebrew language, in which the Old Testament was originally written, the word for “image” and “likeness” found in Genesis 1:26 is tselem. Tselem comes from a root word meaning “form,” and, in addition to likeness and image, it implies “resemblance,” or a “representative figure.” This tells us that man is a copy or counterpart of God. Since God made man in His image (tselem); if we want to find out about man, we must first find out what God is. Then we will know what we are, because we are God’s tselem, copy or counterpart.” That’s all men, not just black men, or white men, or brown men, or yellow men, but all men! Though sin separated man from God in the Garden, Jesus made a way for the restoration of the God-image, Rom. 10:9, 10. All men can be restored to the likeness and image of the Creator and know who they are in Christ Jesus and walk in that revelation by faith. In His Service, Pastor Jeffery A. Resurrection Sunday is one of the most holy and powerful celebrations for so many reasons. First of all, without the resurrection Christianity would fall apart. Like all other religious founders, if Christ had not risen then He would still be in the grave, or at least His body would still be in the grave. Christianity would be no different than all other religions whose founders you would still find their remains wherever they were laid. The other very powerful consequence from the resurrection, surprisingly, is not taught or preached about with the prominence that it should be and that is, when it comes to the resurrection it is directly part of the restoration of the God-image inside of them that believe as witnessed by the following scriptures: Romans 6:4 (KJV): 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Colossians 2:12 (KJV): 12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV): 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Colossians 3:1-3 (KJV): 1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. Galatians 2:20 (KJV): 20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. The “new man” is the resurrected man living the resurrected life in Christ Jesus. We too, as Lazarus was resurrected from natural death back to a natural life, were raised from spiritual death to spiritual life. With that resurrection from spiritual death came the revelation of the God-image and our relationship with God. Today’s message will explore that reality. In His Service, Pastor Jeffery A. Announcements for Sunday, 4-27-25 CCC will have Bible study Monday, 4-28-25, at 7:30 p.m. For the month of May CCC will have Bible study Monday, 5-5-25, 5-19-25, & 5-26-25, at 7:30 p.m. CCC will not have Bible study Monday, 5-12-25, but the video for the Bible study will be uploaded to CCC’s website. The ministry is planning a clean-up day Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. There will be a sign-up sheet for volunteers who will be able to help, and the Church will provide food and refreshments.
