Without Him We Are Nothing
In the message for today, Sunday, June 7, 2020 I am addressing what Jesus did to confront the ills in, not only the time that He walked the earth, but from Genesis to Revelation, it was the same. He addressed the root cause first, sin and man’s rebellion against God, restoring his relationship with his Creator. Then He gave God’s Word, His revelation to man, so that he would know His will and plans for man speaking to his total being spirit, soul, and body maximizing his potential in the earth. Now, with God, all things are possible including addressing the events of today. Without Him we are nothing and the issues we face today will only get worse apart from Him. Until the hearts of men are changed we continue to spiral out of control in our own strength. And even Christians, when we get it twisted and lean to our own understanding we too become a part of the problem and not the solution. The voice of the Church must speak out against all evil, racism, inequality, police brutality, criminal justice reform, and all forms of wickedness. The Church is the salt of the earth, the light of the world, the city on a hill. A lighthouse was to give direction to seafaring ships in coastal waters which is a good comparison to the Church. In the midst of the darkness God sends light. “In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world,” Jn. 1:4-9 (KJV). I’m convinced that this is the greatest opportunity for the Church.
