2025 is almost out of here and the new season of 2026 is about to roll in, and the Lord have given me a powerful theme for 2026: The Year of the Open Heaven. There are only 2 places in the Bible where the windows of heaven are mentioned and that’s in Mal. 3:10 & Gen. 7:11, and in each case it is referring to an abundance flowing from heaven when it’s windows are open. Genesis 7:11 (KJV): 11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. Malachi 3:10 (KJV): 10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be meat in mine house, And prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, If I will not open you the windows of heaven, And pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. Gen. 7:11 was judgment upon the earth. Mal. 3:10 is the blessings because of obedience to God. I’m convinced that God’s people determine whether the windows of Heaven are opened in their lives by obedience to the will of God. I want to walk under an open Heaven, but that’s more easily said than done when living in a generation that’s anti-Christ for the most part. The winds of this end times blow hard against the plans and purposes of God and His chosen generation are swimming upstream because we’re in this world but not of this world. The Father have revealed His will unto men. If we want to walk under an open Heaven then we must walk in the revealed plans and purposes of God, Matthew 16:19 (KJV): 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. As we celebrate this season of thanksgiving, reverence, and appreciation for the God-man who was sent from Heaven to a world of darkness, we take the time to tell God how much we love Him and dare not take for granted that every day that we wake up it’s because of Him. This season of celebration of the going out of the old and the coming in of the new year and new season. God is good to us. My life I can’t imagine without God. All of my conscious days as far back as I can remember has included faith in God and His Christ. Everybody is not so blessed to have been taught from a child the Lord Jesus Christ and those of us who have ought to find it difficult not to praise and worship Him every woke second of our lives. It is the season of celebration. The changing of the guard is upon us again. Out with 2025 and in with 2026. God have already given me the theme for 2026 and I will be sharing that on next Sunday. It’s a blessed time for the Church. It’s a blessed time for the Church because we live in a generation where the harvest is ripe yet the laborers are few and we have the opportunity to tell this generation the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ and that message is that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. That Light has come into the world over 2000 years ago and He is the hope of the world, the way, the truth, and the life. He is the apex of God’s love. He also demonstrates that we are precious since He, the Creator of all things, were willing to take the form of a man, suffer the cross, die, be buried and raised again that we might have life and have it more abundantly. The Church is tasked with the mission of representing Heaven in the earth. We are Heaven’s ambassadors, 2 Corinthians 5:20 (KJV): 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. The Church is called the light of the world as is Christ, the Father, and the Word. Light means to illuminate, to shine, and in the Word of God light also is indicative of the kingdom of Heaven and the revelation of God in the earth. We are all of the light that many who we work with on our jobs will see, or who we work alongside in our businesses, our communities, schools, etc. In Jesus’ sermon on the mount, He reveals that our light is our good works , Matthew 5:16 (KJV): 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. What we do reveals whether we’re walking in light or darkness according to the words of Christ in John 3:19–21 (KJV ): 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. Rom. 14 is an awesome chapter that encourages Believers to be mindful of how we influence our brothers and sisters, and to take it a step further, how we may influence all whom we may come in contact with. In other words, we are to be mindful of our actions and how we are encouraging or discouraging others as it relates to the things of God, Romans 14:21 (KJV): 21 It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak. War is going on in the earth. This war is an invisible war to the natural eye but to them that believe it’s a war none-the-less. The consolation to the Church though, is that we, the Church, have power from on high. God have given us authority over the ability of the devil and his kingdom. Jesus said, “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to them that believeth,” Mk. 9:23 (KJV). The Church in Acts was full of faith and power demonstrated by the signs and wonders manifested in their day. Acts 5:14–16 (KJV): 14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women. 15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. 16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one. When the question was put to His disciples, “Who do men say that I am?” Peter answered, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Matthew 16:17–18 (KJV): 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. The Church has been empowered by God. We are the lightning rod of God in the earth, the light of the world. The war is the kingdom of light against the kingdom of darkness. John 15:11 (KJV): 11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. “Joy” here in Jn. 15:11 is from the Greek word chara, pronounced khar-ah, from Strong’s G5463 and it means cheerfulness, that is calm, delight:- gladness, exceeding greatly, joy (-ful, -fully, -fulness, -ous). This joy is not a joy from having stuff, fame, riches, notoriety, popularity, or any of those things that satisfies our flesh. This joy does not come from anything in this world, but is birth out of our relationship with the God of our salvation. That means that the world didn’t give us this joy and the world can’t take away. When anything else is the source of our “joy,” then when that thing is taken away, or walks out of our lives our joy walks out with it, but when your joy hinges on nothing else such as how high I climb the economic ladder, or how many followers I have on social media, or how many people are under my leadership, but only on my relationship with my God then my joy is full. Now just to make sure that I’m not misunderstood, I’m not saying that there’s anything wrong in itself with being blessed with possessions, riches, fame, or whatever else in this life we may receive, but if these things become priority over our relationship with our Creator then we have a spiritual situation whereas God now has been relegated to an inferior place in our lives. The Word says that we should have no other “gods” before Him. Now I know that sounds like strong language, and it is, but what the scripture reveals is that we must get our priorities right in this life. If we really want to have full joy in this world it will be through a personal relationship with our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. This is the original plan of God and will have it’s fulfillment in the restoration of all things as revealed in Revelation 21:4 (KJV): 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Living right in a wrong world is the plight of the Christian . John 17:14–16 (KJV): 14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. One of the most powerful warnings in God’s Word revealing the Father’s attitude as it relates to Christians and their association with the world is found in 1 John 2:15–17 (KJV): 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. In another scripture as Jesus was praying to the Father He revealed why His followers would be hated in this life. John 15:17–19 (KJV): 17 These things I command you, that ye love one another. 18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. 19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. The word “world” in all of these passages is from the Greek word “kosmos,” Strongs 2889, and is defined as follows: Orderly arrangement, that is decoration; by implication the world (in a wide or narrow sense including its inhabitants literally or figuratively [morally]):-adorning, world. To get entangled in the spirit of this age with no control, boundaries, limitations, or temperament on our desires is opposite of being mature spiritually. Galatians 5:16–17 (KJV): 16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. The Holy Spirit is there with us in time of need. He’s not only there in the time of need, but just look at how the Holy Spirit ministers to the Christian. John 14:16 (KJV): 16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever. He’s our Comforter. John 14:17 (KJV): 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. He lives in the Believer and He’s the Spirit of truth. John 14:26 (KJV): 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. The Holy Spirit is our Teacher and He brings things to our remembrance. John 15:26 (KJV): 26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me. The Holy Spirit testifies of Christ. John 16:7–8 (KJV): 7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. 8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. The Holy Spirit convicts of sin, of our need for the righteousness of God, and of the judgment of God especially of Satan and all evil. John 16:13–14 (KJV): 13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. In the time of trouble and disappointment we’ve got to remember that we have God’s Spirit in us and the Holy Spirit will help us in the time of trouble. He’s a very present help in the time of need. Let the Spirit of God minister unto you during these times. Personally, I have to make time, set aside space, for the distinct purpose of listening to God. He never fails me. Whenever I call on Him, He’s there. I’ve never been disappointed or concerned that when I need my God, He’s not available. His presence is tangible, and His love is unconditional and everlasting. I can lean and depend on Him. I talk to the Holy Spirit and He talks back to me. I’m always aware of His presence. I reverence Him and respect Him and He always represents the Father and the Son. He’s God, the Holy Spirit, the third person of the trinity. The Word of God reveals to us His ministry in the earth. He leads us, guides us, is our Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Helper, Counselor, and Standby. The Holy Spirit is essential to our salvation, Titus 3:4–7 (KJV): 4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, 5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. He’s my prayer partner, my friend, in whom I have fellowship, communion with, and relationship with, that is my desire to have with Him every second of the day, 24-7’s, 365 days a year. He’s my life, my joy, peace, and the lifter of my head. He reminds me of who I am in Christ, brings things back to my remembrance, and helps me to discern spiritual things. I trust in Him. Over the years of my Christian experience, if there’s one thing that I have come to appreciate, it’s my relationship with the One who is with us in this earth presently, the Holy Spirit. Thank you, Lord, for your Holy Spirit. The gift of the Holy Spirit is the greater blessing from Heaven. He’s God, the Holy Spirit, the third person of the trinity. To practice His presence in our lives is to be aware that God sees all, knows all, and hears all that we do in this life which should encourage a life consecrated, sanctified, set apart, and holy unto the Lord. The Holy Spirit gives strength to those without strength. All of us have found ourselves without strength, that is, human strength, but when that divine strength manifests, we know it. You can tell when it happens. You know when God’s strength manifests because the weight of your problems are gone. Your spirit man becomes more sensitive to the Holy Spirit and we’re reminded that we are the children of God. Hallelujah! Strength comes through the power of the Holy Spirit. The gifts and anointings of the Holy Spirit put super on our natural and we are enabled to do the works of Christ and greater works than these shall we do. Sometimes we want others to affirm us when the Holy Spirit affirms us, Romans 8:16 (KJV): 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. He will reign us back into spiritual reality because our natural man will forget that we have covenant rights, and that we have power with God, Acts 1:8 (KJV): 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. There’s power with the Holy Spirit. When we need a rhema Word the Holy Spirit will bring that Word back to our remembrance. What God’s Word says concerning a specific situation, He’ll bring that Word back to us and we know our Helper helps us. He speaks to us in that still small voice that He is with us, in us, and for us at all times. The Holy Spirit lives in us and takes His abode inside of us.
