Pastor’s Pen for Sunday, 2-15-26
Throughout the Word of God, we witness the footprints of the Holy Spirit. From Genesis to Revelation, He’s there. Genesis 1:1, 2 (KJV): 1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Revelation 22:1 (KJV): And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. There are some who believe that this scripture in Rev. 22:1 is reference to the Holy Spirit as compared to John 7:37–39 (KJV): 37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. 38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) The Holy Spirit was intimately involved overseeing in the early Church. Acts 16:6–7 (KJV): 6 Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia, 7 After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not. The same Holy Spirit is with the Church today. The Church will have confirmation by the Holy Spirit as long as the Church aligns with the Word just like the Holy Spirit did in the book of beginnings. Mark 16:20 (KJV): 20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
